SeMT Presented at JSAI2026 Session "Real Life Intelligence"

On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, the organized session KS-32 "Real Life Intelligence: Toward a Platform for Value Co-Creation Based on Physical Data from Everyday Life" was held at the 40th Annual Conference of the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence (JSAI2026, G-Messe Gunma), where Research Director Inamura gave a talk titled "Twenty Years of Real Life Intelligence and the Next Decade: From RoboCup@Home to Self-Mirroring Twins".

The session was organized by Prof. Yoshifumi Nishida (Institute of Science Tokyo), Dr. Yoichi Motomura (National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, AIST), Dr. Koji Kitamura (AIST), and Inamura. Its shared theme was how to realize a social transformation in which everyday activities are turned into data, computational models are built from that data, and value is increased while risks and costs are reduced.

In his talk, Inamura looked back on twenty years of assistive robotics research starting from RoboCup@Home, and showed how the measurement and modeling techniques for everyday life accumulated along the way lead into this project, Self-Mirroring Twins. The closing discussion addressed applications of physical AI and how life data should be handled as an information infrastructure.
